Mark Han, a renowned designer, has unveiled his latest masterpiece, Geometric, a dental clinic design that combines luxury and liveliness. With its unique use of geometric shapes and high-quality materials, Geometric sets a new standard for dental clinic aesthetics.
The inspiration behind Geometric comes from the desire to create a space that exudes liveliness and luxury. The entrance and counter feature diagonal lines, adding a sense of dynamism to the design. The large glass partitions, with their curved shapes and matte metallic colors, create a visually stunning yet tasteful environment. The combination of diagonal cutting and arc screens harmoniously tells a story while complementing each other.
One of the standout features of Geometric is the theme wall on the right side of the entrance. It incorporates three different materials - marble, gray mirror, and cloth texture wallpaper - to create a visually textured effect. The extensive use of diagonal cutting and light white-gray tones adds depth and texture to the space, making it visually captivating.
Geometric's realization technology is a testament to Mark Han's attention to detail. The design had to accommodate different medical chair manufacturers selected by the dean, ensuring that the equipment not only operated seamlessly but also looked beautiful in the same space. The Nakajima workbench and small screens inside the large clinic serve the dual purpose of blocking patients' sightlines and providing a functional workspace for the medical staff.
Geometric also prioritizes the needs of patients with limited mobility or those who value privacy. The design includes a large independent clinic that caters to wheelchair users and provides ample space in the corridors and clinics for patients seeking privacy.
The interaction between patients and the design is carefully considered in Geometric. The low-color waiting space, with its various shades of gray and different materials, creates a professional image without being dull or boring. Patients can immerse themselves in the quiet atmosphere while waiting, reducing the tension associated with dental visits and enhancing their overall experience.
Geometric was brought to life in Taipei City, Taiwan, and the design process lasted from July 28, 2021. The meticulous research conducted by Mark Han ensured that the materials, design, and lighting were perfectly balanced to create a professional and elegant image. The design also overcame the challenge of accommodating different equipment manufacturers, resulting in a tidy and professional space.
Geometric has garnered recognition and acclaim, winning the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award celebrates designs that exhibit outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
Geometric is a testament to Mark Han's expertise in creating unique and visually captivating designs. With its luxurious yet lively aesthetic, Geometric sets a new standard for dental clinic design, offering patients a high-quality and memorable experience.
